Changing your password: you still remember your current password

NB: You can change your password in several ways but we focus on changing while using password.wur.nl. The follow-up steps must be carried out regardless of the method, so even if you changed your password directly within WUR via CTRL+ALT+DEL.

  1. Do you currently have an active FortiClient VPN connection? If so, terminate that first.
  2. Open your internet browser and go to https://password.wur.nl
  3. Select the language display (EN / NL) via the flags in the top left corner.
(The EN display is maintained below).
  4. Click “I want to change my password”
  5. Fill in the required details:
    1. Username: your WURnet account, e.g. JANSE123.
Without WUR in front of it and therefore not your @wur.nl e-mail address.
    2. Current password: Enter your current password, to be changed.
    3. New password: Enter your newly chosen password.
Please read the password requirements shown next to it carefully: your chosen password must meet all the requirements (note point 2 of this, which sometimes causes confusion).
    4. Retype new password: Enter your newly chosen password again for confirmation and verification.
    5. Type the characters you see in the picture: Type the characters you see in the picture. If you cannot read the picture, click Change Characters and try again.
  6. Klik op Change Password
  7. If everything went well, a pop-up will indicate this. It will also tell you to keep an eye on your @wur.nl e-mail box: you will receive a password change confirmation, including further instructions.

  8. If you made a mistake, a pop-up message will indicate it.
