1. How to Make Educational Videos 

In this training you will learn how you can present yourself in front of the laptop camera and the camera in the recording studio at TU/e. The aim is to get the most out of sending the information and keep your subject interesting and engaging for students. Where can you improve your (digital) presentation skills? What are you already doing well? What works for you and can you share with your colleagues? We are going to talk about physical posture, tone of voice, focus, tension in communication and all from behind your desk, at home. We will address questions that teachers have as a result of their experiences making educational videos.

3. Autism-Inclusive Education

The aim of this course is to give you an understanding of how the world works for someone who is autistic, and the effects this has on education. 5. The Inclusive teacher: E-learning

The Inclusive Teacher e-learning course offers a range of tools and tips to make student diversity a valuable asset, leading to more effective teaching and greater student success. Most teachers already do a lot to promote inclusion. However, sometimes it is unclear how you can add to your skills set, or why certain teaching strategies could benefit (groups of) learners. As this course shows, inclusive teaching is often about making small, practical adjustments that lead to sustainable improvement. Topics include inclusive course design, pedagogy, group work, and assessment.

The e-learning is both accessible and interactive and offers a choice of activities. Through discussion boards, you can share best practices with other course participants. Each course unit takes 2-3 hours to complete. If you do the Introduction and at least one other unit, you can get a Certificate of Participation. 7. VR Training Gender Imbalance

Gender imbalance remains an important and timely issue in STEM education. What is it like to be a woman or gender-minority student working on a project in an otherwise all-male group? 6. Showcasing AI in Practice: Episode II

In this session, we will welcome Dr. Ingrid Samset, PhD, Assistant Professor at Leiden University, NL, and Dr. Matthew Voice, Assistant Professor at Warwick University, UK. Ingrid will talk to us about a set of pedagogical AI assistants (e.g. Tutor, Architect, Mirror, Critic, Historical Persona) she has designed using their own in-house LLM, to support students in understanding course materials, structuring ideas and developing arguments in her Postcolonial World course. These assistants are integrated as 24/7 collaborative learning tools that enhance engagement, critical thinking and human–AI collaboration, while complementing (rather than replacing) traditional teaching and class participation. Matthew has been very active in experimenting with AI in education, first for formative assessment and now he is using AI to address possible decline in student preparation and a growing tendency to rely on AI-generated summaries of readings. He deliberately integrates AI into pre-tutorial work by asking students to generate and critically compare AI reading summaries with the original texts, helping them reflect on what may be gained or lost through AI use while strengthening critical thinking and engagement with the material.

3. Emotions in the classroom: introducing a pedagogy of hope

In this course we explore nature inclusive methods that can support sharing, reflection and processing of emotions around global uncertainty, climate change, ecological and social decline/loss/impairment. Here you can read a report about the course from one of the previous participants.

Increasingly, staff and students are confronted with these realities throughout their study program or research efforts and may experience various levels of anxiety or emotional despair. It is usually beyond the scope of an academic lecture to address emotional reflection and processing. However, teachers can also no longer ignore the reality of deeper emotional levels reaching the surface in class or in conversation with students. This course can support teachers to be better prepared for emotional responses. In three days, this module dives into key concepts, methods and facilitation skills of working with emotions in class.
