Introduction
Loss is something most people associate with later stages of life, but it can happen to anyone, at any stage of life, including during your time as a student. Losing a loved one, such as a parent, sibling, or friend, is one of life's most difficult experiences and may leave you searching for ways to cope.
WUR Library has created a curated online bookshelf with books on grief, loss and the process of healing. This collection was put together in collaboration with colleagues from the chaplaincy Spectrum and Student Training & Support. It brings together a range of thoughtful and accessible titles in both English and Dutch. You can borrow the print books with your WURcard, and read the eBooks online when you’re logged in.
Whether you are looking for practical guidance, personal stories or simply reassurance that you are not alone, these books can be a helpful starting point in making sense of difficult emotions and taking the first steps towards healing.
Remember that you can also reach out to a Student Psychologist or Student Life Coach. WUR employees can get support from the occupational social workers.
