In de maand juni komt onze campus tot leven tijdens Pride Month - met een activiteitenprogramma waarin we diversiteit, inclusie en verbondenheid vieren.

In het huidige mondiale klimaat staat de acceptatie van LGBTQIA+ personen steeds vaker onder druk — ook hier in Nederland. Juist daarom is het belangrijk om actief te laten zien waar we voor staan: inclusie, solidariteit en echte verbinding.
Onze aanpak
Om LGBTQIA+ studenten en medewerkers te ondersteunen, organiseren we gedurende de maand een breed scala aan activiteiten en initiatieven. Deze zijn tot stand gekomen in nauwe samenwerking met studenten uit de LGBTQIA+ community, met als gezamenlijk doel een campus te creëren waar iedereen zich gezien, gerespecteerd en gesteund voelt.

We nodigen alle studenten en medewerkers van harte uit om deel te nemen aan het programma, van elkaar te leren en samen te bouwen aan een campus waar iedereen zich écht thuis voelt.

Kick-Off Pride 🌈 - 1 June - 10:00-16:00 - Forum stage
Let’s come together on campus to celebrate Pride and show allyship.
Stop by, work on a collaborative artwork, connect with others, and pick up a Pride bracelet to wear and share your support.

Carol: Movie at Heerenstraat Theatre - 4 June - 21:00 - Heerenstraat Theatre
For WUR students and staff, WUR is offering a special opportunity to witness a key film in LGBTQIA+ culture at the Heerenstraat Theatre for a greatly reduced rate. Carol (2015) is a historical romantic drama, that is about the beautifully tragic budding romance between a young female artist and an older woman going through a difficult divorce. Make sure to bring your friends to this unique opportunity to see a beautiful movie in a beautiful cinema.

Summervibes festival: Make Up Booth - 18 June - 16:00-20:30 - Campus festival area
During the annual SummerVibes festival, which is organized on campus and free for students and staff, there will be a special make-up booth present. Feel free to come by to add some colourful touches to compliment your festival outfit, whether you are looking for something more masculine or feminine! WUR volunteers will collaborate with SHOUT to provide you with a nice look. Pride is more than just glitters and rainbows, but in this case, it's a good place to start!
Summervibes festival: Drag Show - 18 June - 20:30-21:15 - Campus festival area
After a dazzling success in The Spot (Orion) last November, WUR is pleased to welcome the House of FlocKing Birds (and Friends) back on campus. This time, kings, queens and everything in between will take one of the SummerVibes stages by storm from 20:30 onwards. This vibrant event celebrates queer artistry, self-expression and community. Bring all your friends for a drag show full of empowerment, fun and energy!
Human Library - 22 June - 12:30-14:00- Impulse
Are you curious about the LGBTQIA+ community, and would you like to meet some people from various background that you can ask your questions to? A human library is hosted at the WUR campus that is open to all. At this human library, instead of a book, you can borrow a person. There will all kinds of people present, from various sexual orientations and gender expressions. It is a safe space for good dialogues, where you can learn more about other people's perspectives.
