Target group/prerequisites

Prerequisite for the course Applied Statistics is the course Introduction to R, and Statistics 2 or an equivalent level of knowledge.

Course design

Each day consists of lectures and practicals using R. The examples used in the lectures and practicals are based on data provided by researchers of VLAG.

Program topics

Day 1: Hypothesis testing, analysis of variance - ANOVA, t-test, F-test, sample size, multiple comparisons test, experimental design
Day 2: Correlation, simple linear regression, multiple linear regression
Day 3: Regression with qualitative and quantitative variables, selection of variables, replication, pseudo replication

Edition 1: 16, 17 and 19 March 2026 (on Campus)
Edition 2: 17, 18 and 20 August 2026 (on Campus)

The study load of this course is 1.0 ECTS credits.
