How do I register with the municipality of Wageningen?
All international students staying in the Netherlands for more than four months must register at the municipality they live in.
If you live in Wageningen, you can register on campus in August or February. You will receive an e-mail where you can reserve a timeslot. Please bring your passport to your appointment.
As soon as you have (digitally) signed your rental contract, you can complete the pre-registration on First registration for new residents (BRP) or move to Wageningen from abroad - Gemeente Wageningen. You must complete the pre-registration before your appointment, or you cannot register on campus.
If you cannot visit the municipality on campus, you can make an appointment at city hall. You can make an appointment and complete the pre-registration via First registration for new residents (BRP) or move to Wageningen from abroad - Gemeente Wageningen. Please bring your passport to your appointment. Your appointment is at city hall: Markt 22 in Wageningen.
When you live in another city, you need to register at the municipality of that city. For Ede and Bennekom, you can make an appointment via Inschrijving vanuit buitenland | Gemeente Ede
After you have registered you will receive your BSN (Citizen Service Number). Please note that your BSN number is not the same as your V-number on your residence permit.
Moving in the Netherlands
If you move during your stay in the Netherlands, you need to inform the municipality about your new address. For example: If you move from Bennekom to Wageningen, go to the municipality of Wageningen to register your new address in Wageningen.
