To support our academic community WIAS offers talent programmes for potential PhD candidates and postdoctoral fellows and research fellowships to strengthen international collaborations. Calls open once a year and are announced via email and the WIAS newsletter.
Talent programmes
WIAS stimulates talented Master students to write a PhD research proposal at one of the WIAS chair groups within the WIAS graduate programme.
WIAS stimulates talent by supporting talented postdocs with the Postdoc writing fellowship. This grant gives postdocs the opportunity to spend 3 months on writing a grant proposal that primarily contributes to the scientific career of the candidate (such as NWO-Veni proposal).

Research fellowships
WIAS supports international collaboration by offering “visiting scientist” fellowships. These grants are meant to give staff members the chance to invite external researchers to spend a few months at a WIAS chair group. This grant covers living expenses up to €1000 per month and travel costs to and from Wageningen and will be administered via the chair group of the staff member.
WIAS stimulates PhD candidates and postdocs to experience research environments abroad by offering the PhD and Postdoc travel fellowships. This grants allows PhD candidates and postdocs to visit a research institute/ university abroad to perform research.
