Opportunities for continuous professional development

The landscape for post-UTQ and post-SUTQ professionalization is still emerging

It is an exciting time for development. WUR has shown its commitment to recognizing growth in educator professionalization with the adoption of the Academic Career Framework. The TLC is stepping up our commitment to create a broader framework for continuous professional development for teachers by creating the TLC Teaching Academy. With the formation of the TLC Teaching Academy, we strive to not only continue to expand our own support and offerings, but also to help educators access other opportunities offered within WUR and externally through other alliances such as 4TU and EWUU. The goal of the TLC Teaching Academy is, at its heart, to build an inspiring learning community for educators.

There are already valuable opportunities to stay engaged and continue learning both within WUR and in collaboration with other universities:

Intervision & Professional Learning communities

The TLC Teaching Academy can facilitate InterVision groups and Professional Learning Communities where senior teachers come together in a safe and collegial space to reflect on challenges, exchange experiences, and learn from one another. These sessions build a strong network of peers who understand the complexities of teaching and leadership in higher education.
