Payment of the tuition fee is one of the enrolment conditions. On this page you can find information on the amount of tuition fees you have to pay. How you would like to pay can be indicated via Studielink.

Are you a Dutch or European student?
You’ll pay a tuition fee of €2,601 for the 2025–2026 academic year. If you choose to pay in instalments, the payments will be deducted on the following dates:
- 25 September 2025
- 25 November 2025
- 26 January 2026
- 25 March 2026
- 25 May 2026
NL/EEA/SME1: students from the Netherlands, an EU member state, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, or Suriname.
Students from the Netherlands, the EEA, or Suriname pay the statutory tuition fee shown above.
Are you a non-EU student?
And following a Bachelor’s programme?
- The tuition fee for the 2025–2026 academic year is €17,800.
And following a Master’s programme?
- The tuition fee for the 2025–2026 academic year is €21,200.
All non-EEA students who pay Institutional Tuition Fee Rate 3 and need to extend their enrolment beyond the nominal study period can benefit from a regulation allowing a reduced fee: for the first three months of the extension, the statutory tuition fee rate applies.
For bachelor’s students, this reduction applies during the 37th, 38th, and 39th months of enrolment. For master’s students, the reduction applies during the 25th, 26th, and 27th months of enrolment.
This adjustment is processed automatically on the invoice.
Students from outside the Netherlands, the EEA, and Suriname pay Institutional Tuition Fee Rate 3, as listed above.
Exceptions
Is this your second Bachelor’s or second Master’s programme?
The tuition fee for your second Bachelor’s or second (online) Master’s programme, which you start in 2025–2026 without at least one month of overlap between your enrolment in the first and second Bachelor’s or Master’s programme, is as follows:
- NL/EEA/SME1 students
- €14,200 for a second Bachelor’s
- €15,000 for a second Master’s (Institutional Tuition Fee Rate 2)
- €8,250 for a second part-time online Master’s programme
- Non-NL/EEA/SME1 students
- €17,800 for a second Bachelor’s
- €21,200 for a second Master’s (Institutional Tuition Fee Rate 3)
- €11,660 for a part-time online Master’s programme (Institutional Tuition Fee Rate 3)
If you start your second Bachelor’s or Master’s programme and there is at least one month of overlap in your enrolment: NL/EEA/SME1 students pay the statutory tuition fee. Non-NL/EEA/SME1 students with both Master’s programmes at WUR are exempt from tuition fees for the second Master’s as long as the first Master’s has not yet been completed. After graduating from the first Master’s, with continuous enrolment in the second Master’s, you pay Institutional Tuition Fee Rate 3.
Are you following a part-time online Master’s programme in 2025–2026?
- As an NL/EEA/SME1 student, you will pay €2,601.
- As an NL/EEA/SME1 student, if this is your second Master’s programme, you will pay €8,250.
- As a non-NL/EEA/SME1 student, you will pay €11,660.

- As an NL/EEA/SME1 student, you will pay €43.35 per European Credit (EC).
- As a non-NL/EEA/SME1 student, you will pay €353 per European Credit (EC).
Are you taking the educational module?
- As an NL/EEA/SME1 student, you will pay €1,300.50 for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Are you following the Joint Degree Master’s in Water Technology?
- As a non-NL/EEA/SME1 student, you will pay the lowest institutional tuition fee rate among the participating universities. For the 2025–2026 academic year, this is €18,900.
- If this is your second Master’s as an NL/EEA/SME1 student, you will pay €15,000.
Are you a contract student?
You will pay €353.00 per European Credit (EC). As a WUR alumnus, you will pay €145.00 per European Credit (EC). More information can be found on this page.
